This Privacy Policy explains how Tiko processes information when you invite, configure, or use the Tiko Discord bot and related Tiko services. Tiko is operated by the Tiko team. In this Policy, “Tiko,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of Tiko.
Discord operates its own platform and has its own Privacy Policy. This Policy applies to Tiko’s handling of information and does not replace Discord’s policies.
1. Information Tiko processes
Tiko processes only the information reasonably necessary to operate its features, maintain the Service, and respond to users. Depending on the features enabled in a server, this may include:
- Discord user IDs, usernames or display names, server IDs, channel IDs, role IDs, message IDs, timestamps, mentions, replies, and related Discord metadata;
- server membership, role, and permission information needed to operate configured features;
- XP, levels, currencies, balances, inventories, quests, streaks, cooldowns, jobs, aura, leaderboards, and other in-Service progress;
- server configuration, including selected channels, roles, permissions, feature settings, reward settings, and embed settings;
- event information needed for welcomes, revive sessions, drops, AFK status, farming, fishing, mining, trading, notifications, and similar features; and
- information that you voluntarily provide when contacting Tiko through the official Discord server or another support channel.
Tiko may also temporarily process message text for the limited purpose described in Section 2. Message text is not part of Tiko’s stored user or server records.
Server administrators may configure message templates for Tiko’s own welcome and revive messages. Those templates are stored as server configuration and are separate from incoming Discord message text.
2. Message content
Tiko uses Discord’s Message Content privileged intent to check message text for welcome validation. When a member is mentioned during an active welcome session, Tiko may check the message to determine whether it contains a valid greeting. Replies to the newcomer may be validated through Discord message metadata and do not require the text itself.
Message text is accessed only when the message is received, used for the welcome check, and discarded after the check is complete. Tiko does not store, log, cache, export, or retain message text in a database, file, persistent cache, or other record. Tiko does not send message text to any separate third-party service or disclose it for advertising, analytics, profiling, or artificial intelligence, and does not use it to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
Other Tiko features, including XP, cooldowns, drops, quests, leaderboards, and channel-based activity checks, use message metadata and other required event information rather than message text. Tiko does not use message content for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the stated welcome-validation feature.
3. How Tiko uses information
Tiko uses information to:
- provide, operate, and display the features requested by users or enabled by server administrators;
- maintain user progress, server settings, balances, inventories, quests, leaderboards, and other Service records;
- determine whether activity qualifies for a feature, reward, payout, drop, cooldown, or other in-Service result;
- send requested or relevant Discord notifications, including feature notices, reminders, reward notices, quest updates, gift receipts, and streak notifications;
- detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, exploits, fraud, spam, unauthorised access, and other activity that may harm Tiko or its users;
- troubleshoot errors, maintain reliability, secure the Service, and improve its operation; and
- respond to support, privacy, deletion, and other requests made through the official Tiko Discord server.
Tiko does not sell personal information, use Discord data for targeted advertising, or use Discord data to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
4. Direct messages and notifications
Tiko may send direct messages or other Discord notifications to server owners, administrators, or users when reasonably connected to the operation of the Service. These may include notices about material feature changes, server configuration, rewards, payouts, reminders, quest activity, gifts, streaks, or other Tiko events.
You may disable or restrict available notifications through Tiko’s settings or Discord’s privacy and messaging controls. Tiko will not bypass Discord’s blocking, privacy, or opt-out controls. A notification may not be delivered if Discord or your settings block, filter, disable, or otherwise restrict it.
5. How information is shared
Tiko may share or make information available only where reasonably necessary to operate the Service or respond to a valid request. This may include:
- Discord. Tiko operates through Discord and exchanges information with Discord as necessary to receive events and perform actions requested by users or server administrators.
- Service providers. Tiko may use hosting, database, infrastructure, monitoring, backup, security, and other providers that process information on Tiko’s behalf. These providers may access only the information needed for the services they provide.
- Legal and security purposes. Tiko may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with a lawful request, enforce these Terms or this Policy, protect Tiko or its users, investigate abuse, or address a security or technical issue.
- User-directed requests. Tiko may share information where a user or server administrator specifically directs or authorises the sharing through a Tiko feature.
Tiko does not sell, rent, or provide Discord data to advertising networks, data brokers, or similar commercial data services.
6. Retention
Tiko retains information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate the Service, to maintain server and user progress, to prevent abuse, to resolve support issues, or to meet security and operational requirements.
- Message text is discarded after the welcome-validation check and is not retained.
- Server configuration and user progress may be retained while Tiko is installed in a server or while the related feature or account remains active.
- Support records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain a support history, or address a related security issue.
- Security and abuse-related records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate or prevent repeated abuse or protect the Service.
When information is no longer needed, Tiko may delete, anonymise, reset, or otherwise remove it. Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove information from temporary backups or technical recovery systems, which are removed through their ordinary replacement cycle.
7. Data requests and available choices
Server administrators may:
- remove Tiko from a server to stop new processing for that server;
- disable or reconfigure available features through Tiko’s setup and removal commands; and
- request deletion of the server’s stored configuration and associated Tiko data by joining the official Tiko Discord server and contacting us.
Individual users may:
- disable or restrict available Tiko direct messages through Tiko’s settings or Discord’s privacy controls; and
- request access to or deletion of their Tiko data, including XP, balances, inventories, streaks, aura, and other per-user progress, by joining the official Tiko Discord server and contacting us.
We may request reasonable information to verify the identity of the requester and their connection to the relevant Discord account or server. A deletion request may permanently remove progress and cannot normally be undone.
Some information may be retained where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, support records, technical integrity, or other operational requirements. Server configuration is controlled by the relevant server administrators and may not be deleted at the request of an unrelated individual user.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No internet-connected service is completely secure. Server administrators should review Tiko’s requested permissions, use appropriate Discord security settings, and report suspected security issues through the official Tiko Discord server.
9. Children and age requirements
Tiko is intended for people who are permitted to use Discord under Discord’s age requirements and the rules applicable to them. Tiko does not knowingly seek personal information from anyone who is not permitted to use Discord. If a parent or guardian believes that Tiko has received information from an unauthorised minor, they should contact us through the official Tiko Discord server so that we can review the request.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when Tiko, its features, or its information practices change. The current version will be posted at the location where this Policy is made available and will include a revised date. Where a change materially affects how Tiko uses information, we may also announce it through the official Tiko Discord server or through the Service.
11. Contact
Privacy questions, access requests, deletion requests, and concerns about Tiko’s handling of information may be raised by joining the official Tiko Discord server, contacting us through the available support channels, or emailing tikoapp.support@gmail.com.
